Bild-Wort oder Wort-Bild?
Fokus und Hintergrund bei der Refrenzherstellung
Ingo Duwe und Hans Strohner
Abstract
The referential relation compromises various processes in the focus and background
of the referential area. An important factor for the resolution of referential tasks is
the sequence of verbal and pictorial information about the referent. An experiment showed
an advantage for the word-picture sequence in terms of correctness as well as for speed
of response. However, this advantage must be seen with relation to an disadvantage in
this sequence on objects in the background of the referential area. In addition, the
study revealed a significant impact of the number of objects relevant for the referential
search. A future model of referential processing should include not only processes in the
focus and background but also the sequence of verbal and pictorial information.
