Summary:
Architecture can be considered as a set of rules for the combination of "elements" to
fulfill a given task. In engineering sciences, these rules summarize theoretical insights
and cannonical solutions, they can provide basic structures for the process of system
design. For the taks of constructiong an "autonomous" robot, we tried to find a
"neuronal" architecture. As a biological basis, we used two levels of abstraction:
The first level relies on some general aspect of neural information processing. The
second level is based on a "translation" of cortical processes. Several components
of the realised system will be interpreted and the entire system as well as some of
the numerous open questions will be discussed.
