Hybrid architectures for situated systems

The design of control architectures for situative systems is a
complicated task.
On the one hand situative systems need to be able to be robust, even
if minor changes in the environment take place, on the other hand pure
reactive behavior leads to agents, that are hard to control and have
difficulties in acting according to long term plans.
Numerous architectures have been proposed to overcome these
drawbacks. In the first part of the talk I will try to give an
overview over some of these approaches.
In the second part of the talk an integrated architecture for the
controlable reactive agent CoRA
will be presented. The (simulated) agent processes given
instructions, integrates situative data and then performs
action sequences.
