Architectures for incremental Speech Processing

This talk demonstrates the relevance of incremental architectures for speech processing applications. Starting from some observations about the nature of spontaneous speech, we move on to describe the architectural consequences when using incremental algorithms. We investigate the system architecture of INTARC, an incremental, interactive speech translation system built in the framework of Verbmobil.
